Founder of the Culinary Ability Awards
Chris Sandford originally from Scotland, spent 21 years in Ireland. A professional chef for over 30 years, Chris has competed from an early age at many national and international events with continued success. Chris has also worked in a variety of quality establishments in Scotland, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and has represented Ireland at many International events as Team Captain and Manager. He would also be a regular on National TV and radio and writes for a number of industry lead publications.
He is a fully qualified WACS Judge and Examiner of the Applied Ability Awards. Chris has also extended firsthand knowledge spending ten years working with one of the largest service providers for disability globally with a hands-on approach at management level and acquired much valuable training in all aspects of working with many forms of disabilities.
During that time Chris realized what could be done to help both, individuals with disabilities and the hospitality industry, founding and since driving forward the Culinary Ability Awards committed to excellence within the hospitality industry. In 2014 Chris received the Humanitarian Award from the World Association of Chefs.
